Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner

I am Stasha-Gae Roberts. I was born in Jamaica and moved to the United States at the age of 7. Initially my family and I resided in Long Island , NY but then relocated to sunny Miami, FL. After graduating from high school in Miami, I went to the University of Florida, where I majored in nursing. One day an Army recruiter came and spoke with our graduating class about joining the Army as a nurse officer. Joining the Army sounded like a great adventure and so I was later commissioned into the Army as a Second Lieutenant. I went to officer basic in San Antonio Texas and then spent four years at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, in a city best known for its annual golf tournament (Augusta, GA).

After completing my four-year commitment in the Army, I was honorably discharged and relocated to Tampa, FL. Since relocating to Tampa, I have gotten married, obtained a Master of Public Health, Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I have been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2014. Compassion Primary Care officially opened on January 4th, 2021! Direct primary care is a different way to deliver health care. With the direct primary care model, I get to focus on my patients and help them to live healthier lives using an integrative approach.

However, more important than one’s physical health is our spiritual health. I am a Christian. In a world where this term is often used loosely (people think they are Christians because they were born in America, have gone to church since they were children, their father is a pastor or they are “good”) and or viewed negatively, this is not something I am ashamed to say. I will take a few moments to present the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ.

The bad news is that all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. You see the Lord’s standard is perfection and all of us (which includes me) miss that standard daily. As a matter of fact man is at enmity with God ! Because of our sin and rebellion we all justly deserve death and eternal separation (hell) from a righteous and holy God. However, the good news is that God sent his son Jesus Christ to die for our sins AND to take on the righteous wrath of God. Only Jesus (who is fully man and fully God) could take on God’s righteous wrath, which we truly deserved. Jesus was crucified and died, but on the third day he rose again (resurrection) conquering sin, death and demonstrating that He is truly God. Those whom He has called, who repent of their sins and believe in Him are saved. Chrisitans are born again (spiritually) and desire to live a life of obedience to God’s word and bear fruit for His kingdom. Being a follower of Christ does not guarantee that life will be easy, that sickness and disease will not occur, it doesn’t mean you will be rich… on the contrary poverty, persecution and even death can be the results of a life dedicated to Christ. We should take care of our physical bodies in the best way we can. But, no matter what we do our bodies are failing because we live in a sinful world, but our souls will live for eternity in one of two places: heaven or hell. The time to make a decision for Christ is now, if COVID 19 has taught us anything tomorrow is promised to none of us. If you have more questions, please go to the links below or text 813-669-3084.
