I am Stasha-Gae Roberts. I was born in Jamaica and moved to the United States at the age of 7. I am one of five children, two brothers and two sisters. Of course the best place to relocate to after leaving the sunny island of Jamaica is , you guessed it, Long Island, New York ! My family and I lived in New York for about three years before relocating to Miami Florida.
After graduating form high school in Miami, I went to the University of Florida, where I majored in nursing. One day an Army recruiter came and spoke with our graduating class about joining the Army as a nurse officer. Joining the Army sounded like a great adventure and so I was later commissioned into the Army as a second lieutenant. I went to officer basic in San Antonio Texas and then spent four years at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, in a city best known for its annual golf tournament (Augusta, GA).
After completing my four year commitment in the Army, I was honorably discharged and relocated to Tampa, FL. While in Tampa I enrolled in the University of South Florida's' Masters in Public Health program. However during this time, I also met my husband Donavin. While enrolled in school, I continued to work as a nurse and completed my education in Public Health in 2007.
I really wanted to have my own practice, and so went back to school to attain my Masters of Science in Nursing - Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. After completing this degree in 2014, I had the opportunity to work for various health care organizations in the Tampa Bay Area, serving mostly our precious seniors.
In January of 2018 I returned to the University of South Florida, but this time the College of Nursing and embarked on studies to obtain my Doctor of Nursing Practice. I completed this degree in August of 2019. In the spring of 2020 I decided to fulfill my dream of opening my own practice and started formulating a business plan to help me to achieve this goal.
Again I welcome you to Compassion Primary Care, it is my goal to provide you with excellent, quality care. Especially during the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic it is important that we keep ourselves healthy through health promotion and disease prevention and the management of chronic conditions!
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, reading, eating at different restaurants, working out and attending / being involved in my local church. I look forward to working with you and welcome to my practice.
